TWO young Polish men have died following a horrific crash on a notorious stretch of road that has seen 13 crashes in just over a year.

And a third man died yesterday in a separate incident when his motorcycle was involved in a collision with a car.

The two Polish men, aged 22 and 28, were killed when their car went out of control and crashed into a signpost outside Templemore, Co Tipperary, just before midnight on Saturday.

A third man, believed to be a backseat passenger, escaped with just minor injuries and was taken to hospital. He was released yesterday.

His two friends were pronounced dead at the scene -- a dangerous stretch of road on the N62 between Templemore and Roscrea.

Local residents, who have raised concerns about road safety in the area, awoke to the sound of the crash and rushed outside to find the small car severely damaged and "barely recognisable".
