Dublin child killed in Co Wexford accident

A Dublin child was killed and another critically injured in
a road accident in Co Wexford this morning. The accident happened at 10.30am
this morning when a lorry collided with a car at the Ashfield Cross junction on
the main Wexford to Rosslare road. There were four people travelling in the
car, two children and their parents. One of the children, nine-month-old Katie
Clarges, of Loughlinstown, Co Dublin, was killed and her brother, Connell (3),
is in a critical condition. He has been transferred from Wexford General
Hospital to Beaumount Hospital in Dublin. The childrens' parents, Paul and
Grainne Clarges, are still in hospital in Wexford. The driver of the lorry was
brought to hospital where he was treated for shock. Gardaí say it is too
early to say how the accident occurred.

Connell Clarges (3), of Loughlinstown, Co. Dublin, died in
hospital on Monday night, two days after his sister Katie (18 months) lost her
life in a road accident at Ashfield Cross, on the main Wexford to Rosslare
road. The children were travelling with their parents, Paul and Gráinne
Clarges, when the family car was in collision with a truck.
