The community of Mountrath in Co. Laois is preparing today for the funerals of the three young local people who died in a horrific road accident near Portlaoise on Saturday morning. Leaving Cert student Aoife Carroll (17) from Camross, her boyfriend 20 year-old Matthew Peters from Kilbricken and their friend 21 year-old Ray Cuddy also from Kilbricken died when the car in which they were travelling collided with a silage trailer. Six others travelling in the same car were injured. Three are still fighting for their lives in Dublin's Beaumount Hospital.
