Two Mayo people killed in Galway accident
There was a massive turnout at the weekend for the funerals of the Mayo mother and son who were tragically killed in a horror road accident in Milltown in Galway last week. Killed instantly in the accident, which involved a car and the trailer section of an articulated truck, were Mrs Bridie O'Toole, Tallaghan, Geesala and her 26 years old son Desmond. Injured in the accident were Mrs Bridie Greene, who was mother of Mrs O'Toole and Des O'Toole, Snr. They were removed to hospital in Galway and later Mr. O'Toole was transferred to James' Hospital in Dublin.

At the weekend it was learned that both injured people were improving. The dead woman was sister-in-law, and the man a nephew, of former Minister for the Gaeltacht and Defence, Mr. Paddy O'Toole, Ballina. The tragic deaths shocked the entire North Mayo area and there was a very big turnout of mourners at the funerals at the weekend.
