Schoolboy (15) Tragically Killed In Head-on Crash
A fifteen years old schoolboy was killed instantly and his mother seriously injured in a head-on two car crash on the main N25 Cork/Waterford road, five miles outside Dungarvan last Wednesday morning. Michael O’Riordan, Kilossera, Dungarvan, was the front seat passenger in the car driven by his mother, Marian O’Riordan, when it collided head-on with a car approaching from the Waterford direction towards Dungarvan at Kilineen. It is understood that Mrs. O’Riordan and her son were travelling to Waterford to take the train to Dublin to visit a relative in hospital. It is reported that her car struck the back of a dumper before careering across the road and crashing onto the approaching car.
