Edward McManus and his wife 59 year old wife Vera McManus were killed in a three car collision at Moneygold, near Grange on the Sligo to Bundoran road. Several others were injured in the pile up and gardaí in Sligo have appealed for witnesses. Mr and Mrs McManus were living near Enfield in Co. Meath.

Husband and wife Edward (69) and Vera (59) McManus from Enfield, Co Meath were killed in a three car collision in which seven people were injured in Co Sligo on Saturday evening. Sports Minister, Dr James McDaid encountered the accident while returning home to Donegal from Galway Races. A medical doctor, he attended the injured until they could be taken to hospital by ambulance. None of the injured people, who are being treated at Sligo General Hospital, are considered to be in a life-threatening situation.
