A 25-YEAR-OLD
driver could face court charges after being quizzed about a hit-and-run in
Galway at the weekend. The hit-and-run victim, Dermot Moloney, from Craughwell,
was found on the main Galway-Dublin road near Oranmore around 4am on Saturday.
The 26-year-old, who worked as a carpenter in Clarinbridge, was pronounced dead
at University College Hospital, Galway. After an appeal for information,
gardaí arrested the suspect at lunchtime on Saturday. He was released
without charge from Mill Street station at midnight but gardaí will be
sending a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
