LAOIS roads
claimed their fifth and sixth victims of 2005 in as many weeks in the early
hours of Tuesday morning last when a young couple died when the car they were
traveling in was in collision with a bus at Aughafan outside Mountrath at
1.10am.
James Moore, (23) Grangewatt, Tullow, County Carlow and his
girlfriend Louise Ryan (21), a native of Limerick, were fatally injured in the
crash. The couple were returning to Carlow from an enjoyable visit to
Louises home in Limerick when the accident occurred. The bus contained a
driver and six teenagers who had attended a concert in Dublin earlier that
evening. It is understood that James, who was driving the vehicle and Louise
were killed instantly while the vehicles ignited following the collision. The
driver and passengers of the bus escaped without injury but were taken to
Portlaoise Hospital for observation.
James and Louise had been dating
over the past year and were described as being mad about each
other...real soul mates, who were always together. Jamess
heartbroken parents Jimmy and Betty (née Lawlor) and his family are now
grappling to cope with their terrible loss. James was a carpenter by profession
and worked in the general Carlow area were he was noted for his craftsmanship
and expertise while Louise was studying for her Masters at Maynooth University.
James is survived by his parents Jimmy and Betty, brothers Patrick,
Shane and Daniel, sister Laura, nephews Joseph, Jordan, Aaron and Nathan,
Hayley, grandparents Chrissie Lawlor, Lr Staplestown Road, Carlow and
grandfather Paddy Moore, Graiguecullen, sister-in-law Elke, brothers-in-law
